In the forward cockpit the foot braces are rather springy and are rigged with a belt style harness and buckles.

They do release rather quickly however and give you the feeling of a sturdy platform when paddling. These units have an excellent rudder system. There are two separate strings that you can use to operate the rudder in the up and down positions and at the ends have big handles that are quick to locate and are comfortable to pull. When the kayak rudder is in the up position the kayak is very easy to maneuver but you would’nt want to paddle for an extended period of time without using a rudder. These two person kayaks are a pleasure to paddle and with a strong person with you it is very easy to cover long distances.
